Central Oregon Stallion Guide: AQHA Stallions    Central Oregon Stallion Guide  Quarter Horse Stallions  AQHA = American Quarter Horse Association. American Quarter Horses must be Genetically Quarter Horses; sires and dams must be one AQHA and the other may be either AQHA or JC (Jockey Club Thoroughbred). If one parent is a Thoroughbred, then the Quarter Horse is an Appendix. There are also two Foundation Registries of Quarter Horses, so if you a stallion is FQHR/AFQHA then he is also registered in a Foundation Registry. If a quarter horse stallion is a Palomino, then he can be registered Palomino; if he is Dun, Grulla, or Buckskin, he can be registered in the Buckskin Registries (ABRA or IBHA).
