There are two chutes for six furlong and 1 1/4 mile races. Distance from last turn to finish line is 1,050 feet and the distance from the finish line to the first turn is 330 feet. The track width is 80 feet in the frontstretch and the first turn and 70 feet in the backstretch and far turn. Construction began 1924 by Culflash & Edwards and completed by Colonel Bradley and Matt Winn with design fashioned after Churchill Downs.

Douglas B - O'Hare elevated trains stop at Cicero Avenue and Cermak Road.  By Bus-  CTA Bus 54 B offers service every day until midnight north and south on Cicero Avenue.
